Activities - Pemba, Mozambique - Pemba Beach Resort Sport Fishing - Pemba Beach Resort The Pemba region is one of the prime fishing hot spots anywhere. The main focus is on the Quirimbas Archipelago - a string of islands beginning about 60 km north of Pemba and continuing almost to the Tanzanian border 250 km north - with shallow water amongst the islands but very deep channels close inshore, resulting in unbelievable fishing.
Scuba Diving - Pemba Beach Resort Pemba is fast becoming one of Mozambique`s premier tourist destinations and is undoubtedly one of the country's top scuba diving destinations, with many undiscovered dive sites and spectacular coral reefs now opening up to the intrepid diver.
For those who dare to explore, our waters are rewarded with:
An extensive variety of hard, and soft coral
A vast array of marine plants
Countless different types of crustacea
An abundance of fish species
A great variety of nudibranchs and marine invertebrates
4 species of dolphin
Seasonal whale sightings from August to October
Occasional sunfish sightings (known as moonfish in Europe)
4 species of marine turtle
Pelagic (game) fish moving over our reefs
Other Activities - Pemba Beach Resort Kayaking - Pemba Beach Resort With a range of single kayaks, a double kayak, and even fishing kayaks to offer, this is one of our most popular non-motorised sport activities. Guests enter and exit the water in front of the activity center (Clube Naval) where they are assisted by trained staff to ensure safety and enjoyment for an hour or two.
Hobie Sailing - Pemba Beach Resort By far the most requested of the self -guided sailing options offered (gypsy and laser sailing are also available). Guests disembark from the small beach next to our marina, where trained staff set up the Hobie cats and assist guests with entering and exiting the water for an hour or two of exhilarating sailing.
Motorised Watersports - Pemba Beach Resort Our motorised watesports include skiing (tandem and slalom), tube skiing and banana tube rides. All motorised watersport takes place in front of the hotel grounds, depending on the weather.
All safety equipment is included.
Snorkelling - Pemba Beach Resort There are two options for snorkelling at Pemba: the first option is self-guided snorkelling off the beach (gear provided free of charge for hotel guests) and the other alternative is to go out on one of our motorised boats for a two-hour excursion to snorkel the reefs out at sea (between 5 and 15 minutes away). These trips include all snorkeling equipment.
Sunset Cruises - Pemba Beach Resort Our sunset cruises sail into the bay of Pemba either to the north point (Londo) or to the harbour, where the water is predominantly calm, and guests can marvel at the amazing sunsets, with the huge Boabab trees and unspoiled coastline only a stones throw away. Cruise duration: 2-and-a-half hours. Cruises do not include drinks, which are charged on consumption. Snorkelling is also available as part of this service at an additional cost.
