Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town / Hermanus
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you are met and assisted to the Car Hire Depot to collect your vehicle. Travel eastwards, via Gordons Bay and Kleinmond, to the quaint coastal village of Hermanus. Hermanus is built along the shores of Walker Bay near the Southern most tip of Africa. Magnificent mountains watch over the town which is home of the Southern Right Whale. Nature lovers from all over the world visit Hermanus to view these magnificent creatures from the best land based whale watching destination in the world.

Day 2: Knysna (B)
This morning set off past Mossel Bay, George and on to Knysna, along the Garden Route, well-known for its lush green countryside, endless stretches of beach, rocky shorelines, lakes, winding rivers and mountain passes. Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coasts best known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon. It offers many activities and attractions of a wide variety. The most well-known attraction being the 'Heads', two great sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea.

Day 3: Knysna (B)
This morning we recommend a ride on the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe (steam train), which travels between the towns of Knysna and George, as well as a cruise on the Knysna lagoon with a visit to the Featherbed Nature Reserve.

Day 4: Garden Route / Oudtshoorn / Calitzdorp (B)
Drive through the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, known as the 'feather capital of the world', because of its large ostrich industry. View the magnificent Cango Caves, an astounding natural wonder, before continuing on to Calitzdorp, the Port wine capital of South Africa.

Day 5: Calitzdorp / Montagu (B)
Follow 'Route 62', one of the most beautiful travel routes in South Africa, as well as one of the least known and least travelled ones, making your way through the Huisrivier Pass, Ladismith, Barrydale and on to the romantic village of Montagu. Historically known as the entrance to the Klein (Little) Karoo, Montagu's attractions include orchards, vineyards and natural hot springs.

Day 6: Montagu / Stellenbosch (B)
Travel through spectacular mountain passes, via Robertson, Worcester and Franschhoek. Travel to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, meandering along the wine route. Stop at a few selected wine estates to sample some of the wine produced in this area.

Day 7: Stellenbosch / Cape Town (B)
Spend the morning at leisure before returning to Cape Town International Airport for your onward journey.
