The wildlife is excellent and one of the finest. It has 17 magnificent waterfalls besides the Victoria Falls, Zambia offers tours to 'cascade followers' into the remote undeveloped rural areas where you can get a glimpse of village life. Zambia has the largest water resources in the whole of southern Africa with 5 massive lakes and plentiful rivers offering excellent fishing.
A wide range of activities from Walking Safari deep in the wilderness, River Rafting into the deep gorge below the Victoria Falls, Abseiling, Canoeing Safaris down the Zambezi, River Surfing, excellent Tiger Fishing and breath-taking African sunsets. The spectacular view of the Victoria Falls, and then add on a safari, the best Game reserves. There are lots of places to visit in this stunning country. You can choose from a variety of wildlife and enjoy Zambia's astounding and diverse concentration of wild animals and birds. You can adventure on rafting, kayaking, canoeing trails, 4x4 routes, house boating, horseback trails, scuba diving, jumping, micro lighting and some of Africa's best fishing spots.
In the cities, especially Lusaka, where there is massive unemployment and poverty, the informal sector has been allowed to multiply. If you don’t walk around with anything obviously stealable, it’s quite safe and most will be more than willing to chat or give directions because the most part of Zambians are very friendly people.
There is no predominant ethnic culture and Zambians are fast becoming westernized. There is however, an attempt to maintain traditional customs with the revival of tribal ceremonies amongst the various tribes in different parts of the country. It is country to travel in by road. Camping facilities are limited though. It has a wide range of standard accommodation. Not all places can be paid for with traveler cheques.
